Vormz
We support your business at every stage of the process! We'll help with 3D printing, 3D scanning, 3D design and post-processing.
Does your company want to have an object professionally scanned in 3D? We can! With our high-resolution 3D scanner, we turn a physical object into a digital and three-dimensional scan. Then we can edit and/or improve the scan. Afterwards, the scan can of course be 3D printed, if desired!
Does your company own a part but no 3D design of it? No problem. We can use reverse engineering to create a digital copy. We do this by 3D scanning or drawing the original model. This file will then form the basis for customizing the object to your requirements.
Curious about the possibilities for Reverse Engineering? Feel free to ask us your questions. Or request a quote!
Our 3D scanning experts know exactly what they are doing. Your physical object is converted into a digital file in great detail. In 5 to 10 business days you can expect the digital model in your mailbox. Then have the model 3D printed? We will continue the process immediately! Send us your object and we will get to work on your order!
We make a 3D scan of the physical object.
We export the scan to a suitable file format.
We fine-tune - or even improve - the model. Done!
We can help you prepare a fully functional 3D file!
What is 3D scanning?
3D scanning is basically the opposite of 3D printing; therefore, it is also called Reverse Engineering. Whereas 3D printing involves printing a 3D model into a physical object, 3D scanning actually digitizes a physical object. This digital scan is then exported to a file format suitable for a 3D computer program.

How does 3D scanning work?
The shape of an object is translated into digital information. This is done using a laser, which allows the distance between the 3D scanner and the object to be measured. This is applicable not only to small objects, but also to very large objects such as vehicles and even entire buildings.
Want to know more about this? Feel free to send us a message.
What kinds of objects can you 3D scan?
Actually all kinds of objects! For example, with 3D scanning it is possible to 3D scan a very small object like a ring. But it is equally possible to scan vehicles and buildings.

When is 3D scanning necessary?
Imagine this: as a company, you have an existing object and you want 100 more of these. But you don't have a digital model of the object. Then you can't reproduce the object.
Through 3D scanning, the physical object is converted to a digital file. The great advantage of this is that the already existing object can now easily be duplicated. Or even improved to the customer's requirements.

Does it require a 3D scan before 3D printing?
A digital 3D model is always needed for 3D printing. If you own this digital model, we can print it. Don't you have it? Then the 3D model must be created. Fortunately, we can help with that. We can create such a file using 3D scanning or 3D design.
Want to know more about the 3D printing process? Read more on our page about 3D printing.
Can you 3D scan in color?
Yes, it is certainly possible to 3D scan in color.
Want to know more about 3D colors? Send us a message.
Which 3D scanner will be used to make my 3D scan?
We use Shining 3D scanners. For objects up to 20cm the Shining 3D Einscan SP scanner is used. For objects larger than 20cm the Shining 3D EinScan HX is used.
Want to know more about 3D scanners? Feel free to send us a message.
How much does 3D scanning cost?
The scanning of an object is calculated on the basis of our hourly rate. On average, we take about 1 hour for objects up to 20 cm.
For objects larger than 20cm, a minimum of 2 hours is required. The exact duration depends on the type of object and whether any post-processing is required.

What do I need to provide for a 3D scan?
That's easy! For 3D scanning, we only need the physical object.
Want to know more? Send us a message.
How long will it take for my 3D scan to be delivered?
It's fast! Scanning takes an average of 5-10 business days. When there is urgency, we can always deliver faster.
Please feel free to contact us with your questions.
In what file type will my 3D scan be delivered?
The digitized object is delivered in an STL file or Wavefront OBJ file. The file type depends on whether color is required. STL is a digital model without color. OBJ is a digital model with color.

What industry do you produce 3D scans for?
We create 3D scans and 3D designs for all kinds of businesses and industries.

What are examples of 3D scans?
For the war museum in Overloon, we were commissioned to print a battery cover for an Airspeed Horsa MK1 Assult Gilder. A glider used during World War II. We scanned the object, repaired it and then printed it. The model is now used the aircraft in the war museum in Overloon.
"Recently had the lid of a borrowed original battery from a World War II aircraft [...] scanned, after which this lid was printed life-like. The replica battery is now [...] in the War Museum Overloon. Excellent service and quality for a reasonable price at Vormz in Ede."
On another 3D scanning job, a part of a canoe was no longer available. This part holds the rudder in place. For scanning, we used the Shining3d Einscan-SP, a scanner where the part is placed on a rotating plate.

Vormz created a 3D map of an Egyptian temple for us, for a new tour created for people with visual impairments. The floor plan allows our guide to explain how a temple was constructed and how the Egyptians used the rooms. The contact was very pleasant and fast and the end result is even better than we had hoped for! We are extremely happy with it.
Great experiences with Vormz! Fast quotes, fast delivery and quick, clear communication.
We contacted Vormz to print several prototypes. These were printed using the SLA technique. The accuracy and finish of the product were perfect and also had good dimensional accuracy. The communication with Vormz was excellent and he also gave good explanations about the printing method. Our parts were printed in such a way that the highest accuracy could be achieved. Definitely recommended for prototyping!
I was looking for a 3D printing service where I could test some printing techniques for prototyping. Also some individual parts for production work. I found at Vormz a smooth service and plenty of options. Short lines, very nice. Thanks for thinking with me and the fast service!
